Leonard Penkala: Deacon

Welcome to St. Raphael!  My name is Deacon Len Penkala.  My wife Leslie, my two daughters Alisa, Lauren and I have been parishioners here since 2004.   Although I have been active in the church my entire life, it was when I came to St. Raphael that I felt the call to the diaconate.  I immediately sensed a very welcoming parish with vibrant liturgical celebrations and a focus on service to others.  I was ordained a deacon for the Diocese of Joliet in 2016 and assigned to St. Raphael.  In 2019 I was appointed by Bishop Conlon as the Diocesan Master of Ceremonies while continuing to serve at St. Raphael.  St. Raphael is a GREAT place to grow your relationship with the Lord.  Please consider joining one of our many ministries.  You will NOT regret it!  If you don’t know where to start, feel free to call one of the deacons.
