Mariano “Mario” J. Mauro, 84, of Naperville Illinois, passed away on January 19, 2023. He was born on March 1, 1938, in Chicago, IL, to Josephine nee Carollo and Joseph I. Mauro. Loving husband of Joanna Cecelia nee Oberst who he married on November 30, 1963, at St. Pascal Catholic church. Dear father of Lisa M. Scholz and Gregory P. Mauro. Grandfather of Carl Scholz, Emily Mauro, Natalie Scholz, and Alec Mauro. Brother of Marie Kreuser. Uncle of Kristine and Mathew Kreuser. Mario was preceded in death by his parents, and son in law Rick Werner Scholz

Deanna M. Anderson

Deanna was born on September 28, 1962 in Spokane, WA to Giovanni and Francis Pelle. She joined her siblings Rosemary, Johnny and Dan and by extension, the large Italian community in Spokane. Deanna spent her childhood there, attending St. Francis Xavier Catholic School, where she met and formed life-long friendships with Teri and Michelle. She also attended Gonzaga Prep and graduated from Eastern Washington University. In 1987 Deanna met the man she would come to marry, Jim Anderson, and they were blessed to celebrate 33 years of marriage together. Deanna always wanted to be a mom and that wish was granted when she and Jim welcomed Jonathan and Katherine into their lives to form the perfect family. Through her endless love, wisdom and nurturing, she has left them with the tools to navigate this world in her absence.

Dominic Blando, 80, of Naperville, IL, passed away on Sunday November 13, 2022. He was born on December 2, 1941, in Chicago, IL, to Rose nee Molie and Thomas Blando. Beloved husband of Michele nee D’Amico Blando. Father of Thomas Blando, Christine (Michael) Handzel, and Brad (Alicia) Hillesheim. Grandfather of Dominick, Vincent, Anthony, Angelo, Gianna, Anthony, Ariana, Michael, and Nathan. Great grandfather of Finnley, Mia, and Elle. Brother of Marie (Earl) Bruzan and Guy (Karen) Blando. Uncle of Jill mother of Lainey and Cameron, Scott, Kara, Carl, Sully Guy and Mary. He is also survived by many dear cousins and extended family members

Richard Sweeney McLaughlin, age 96 of Naperville, IL., passed away October 30, 2022. He was born April 22, 1926 in Doylestown, PA. Lillian Dean

Lillian Doris Dean, 91, of Naperville, IL, passed away on Monday October 17, 2022. She was born on January 5, 1931, in Detroit, MI, to Yvonne M. (nee Devos) and Julian J. Houtekier. Lillian attended Southeaster High School, class of 1948. On May 10, 1951, she married the love of her life William Dean. Together they enjoyed over 71 years of marriage.

Sarah E. Schmid

Sarah was born November 6th, 1926, to her loving parents Mary and Leo Betthauser and was raised in West Salem, Wisconsin. She graduated from Nursing School in 1948 and was working at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa when she met and later married David F. Schmid. Together they moved to Fox Lake and began a family. With their five beautiful children they moved to Naperville, Illinois in 1966. Sarah was the head nurse at Edward Hospital for nearly two decades, retiring in 1985. She remained in Naperville until her passing.

Laurie Victoria Bruzan, age 77, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1990, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 2, 1945 in Chicago, IL, to Stanley and Wanda (nee Laszczewska) Lisikiewicz, and was the third oldest of 11 children. Laurie often said throughout her life that her siblings were her best friends.

Jon was the best friend, soulmate, and husband of Jeanne Ripsky (nee Powers), whom he married April 11, 1985. Marilyn M Strange

Longtime Naperville resident Marilyn Strange (nee Murray) – a woman known for her kind heart and nature, gracious hospitality, and love of family and baking – died on December 26, 2021 surrounded by her children. Born in Chicago on July 16, 1933, she and her husband were one of the founding families of St. Raphael Church & School in 1961. Marilyn happily volunteered throughout her life, most recently at food kitchens and the DuPage Children’s Museum.

Marilyn is survived by her children Chris Strange, Cindy Burns, John (Frances) Strange, Tim Strange, Catherine (Ray) Standley, eight grandchildren, and two great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John E. Strange, DDS, her son, Tom, two of her grandchildren, and her five siblings. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the DuPage Children’s Museum.
