Liturgical Ministers’ Day – October 21

All liturgical ministers from servers to sacristans, mass coordinators to choir members are asked to attend the upcoming half day retreat on Saturday, October 21 beginning with the 8:30 am Mass and concluding at Noon in the Church with a commissioning ceremony.. Servers, cantors and choir members high school age and older should attend (younger ages do not need to attend).

Our presenter this year is Dr. Steve Janco. Steve was the Director of the Rensselaer Program of Church Music and Liturgy from 2006 – 2016. He currently serves as Director of Liturgy and Music at St. Eulalia Parish in Maywood, IL. He earned the degree Licentiate of Sacred Theology from the University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein, IL; a Master of Church Music degree from Concordia University Chicago; and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Catholic Theological Union, Chicago. A well-known composer of liturgical music (we frequently sing his “Mass of the Angels and Saints”) and the author of numerous journal articles, Steve serves as a consultant to the Chicago Office for Divine Worship and as a member of the Board of Directors of the North American Forum on the Catechumenate.
